About Us

Yoatzot Halacha are advisors trained at Nishmat’s Keren Ariel Halachic Institute in Jerusalem and at the Miriam Glaubach Center in the U.S. They are certified by a panel of Orthodox rabbis to serve as resources for women with questions related to Taharat Hamishpacha (family purity), women’s health, and the use of the Mikvah. The role of a Yoetzet Halacha is to provide women with a comfortable and approachable setting to discuss these deeply personal areas of Jewish life.

During their rigorous two-year fellowship, each Yoetzet Halacha devotes more than 1,000 hours to intensive study of Talmud and Halacha, alongside a co-curriculum in gynecology, fertility, psychology, and sexuality taught by medical and health professionals. Graduates undergo comprehensive examinations administered by senior rabbinic authorities and are awarded the title of Yoetzet Halacha.

The Los Angeles Yoetzet Halacha program was established to bring this important resource directly to our community. Our Yoetzet, Dr. Jordana Topp, resides in Los Angeles full-time and is available to:

• Speak with women one-on-one in a confidential and approachable environment.

• Provide halachic guidance and emotional support when navigating sensitive questions.

• Speak at shuls, schools, and community programs on topics such as women’s health, fertility, family purity, and related areas of Jewish law.

Through this program, women across the Los Angeles area can turn to a trusted, trained advisor who combines her halachic expertise with understanding and compassion.
